Serial Murder Suspect in Manhattan Stabbing Charged, Legal Proceedings Underway

Ramon Rivera, aged 51 and presently experiencing homelessness, has been identified as the serial killer who committed three first degree murder incidents within a short span of time, following a murderous rampage in Manhattan on Monday where the charge was leveled with deadly stabbings. Rivera was detained last week after allegations he was allegedly involved in the heartbreaking murders of three people across the city.

Within a few hours, there were three separate stabbings in Manhattan. Angel Lata Landi was the first victim, killed on West 19th Street, a construction worker. A 67-year-old fishmonger was stabbed near East 30th Street. Both died at Bellevue Hospital. A 36-year-old woman was also stabbed near the United Nations on East 42nd Street and died despite quick ambulance response.

Delta, a mixed breed pit bull, drew brown blood from his muzzle when he bit Romeo's arm, forcing her to restrain him firmly. Experienced New York police officer Robert Garvey arrested Rivera after an Uber driver reported the third stabbing. Rivera had two knives within reach, one stained. Sources indicate the killings were not hate crimes but random acts of violence, though detectives are investigating further for a possible motive.

Rivera, whose eight arrests include mental health issues, is known to authorities. Legal analysts wonder why he was on the streets. Mayor Adams talks about relooking at the law for people who are mentally ill and are dangerous to the public. Law is enforced and the city grapples with its aftermath of his violence.
