Microsoft announces licensing changes for Copilot AI products ahead of its Ignite conference, introducing new billing plans for Microsoft 365 and Enterprise Agreements.
Microsoft announced important updates to its licensing and billing policies ahead of its yearly Ignite conference set for later this month. The revisions which cover its Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and Copilot AI Products are predicted to revolutionize the interaction of partners and customers with cloud services of the software giant.
Microsoft is making a portion of its direct cloud Enterprise Agreements un-renewable, requiring affected customers to transition to the Microsoft Customer Agreement or the Cloud Solution Provider program. This shift aims to enhance partner support in response to rising demand from small and midsize customers, targeting a $661 billion cloud market by FY 2025.
From December 1, Microsoft will launch a monthly subscription for a new generation of Copilot AI, which includes Microsoft 365 Copilot and other products, giving a pay-as-you-go option. The read of payment flexibility of our customers using Microsoft AI tools has been improved by this initiative. Changes to the Copilot Copyright Commitment also include indemnification for infringement actions relating to use of Copilot.
The tech juggernaut also announced an E5 licensing promotion coming on January 1, 2025, and new pricing changes for non-profit clients. And while final numbers aren’t being released quite yet, Microsoft is expanding its partner network as it gets ready for the Ignite conference set to start on November 19-22, which will have over 90,000 partners, plus its CSP partner program.
