Microsoft has introduced a new app for its mobile users at the Ignite launch for both iOS and Android. The software giant had versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint separately. But now, the latest office app has combined them into a single app.
The app allows you to access recent documents in the app and also create new ones by scanning text or tables from your phone. Microsoft has combined all the functionality in a seemingly easy way into a single app that is smaller in size than all the three separate apps. The new app is proposed like a hub for Microsoft where it can include all its new features that have been added to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The ‘action’ section is filled with functions like the ability to transfer files from your computer to your mobile, convert images into text or tables, scan pictures into PDFs, etc. These features were added before the single app came but the users were unaware of it as it was hard to access before. But with the latest app, they’re likely to be used frequently.
Recently, Microsoft also introduced a new fluent design for its version of the Office logo. The company has also been consistently adding more icons to a variety of Office apps. The app will be publicly available from today on both android and iOS platforms but not on tablets and iPads.
