Come March 8th, owners of Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus can unbox their new mobile devices with preinstalled screen protectors. This is a big advantage for the new users because they can skip the hunting trip for screen protectors that are compatible with the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Samsung is keen on purposely including the protectors for only S10 and S10 Plus models. However, the Samsung S10E won’t be shipping screen protectors as they work perfectly well with other screen guards.
The protectors that Samsung is shipping are just a basic version, just like what OnePlus ships along with its phones. Moreover, there is also slight confusion about whether tempered glass screen guards will function right and allow the fingerprint sensor to work properly.
Samsung also intends to sell extras of its first-party screen protector for $29.99. There isn’t any warranty on how long these protectors will last, being the most basic version in quality. It’s also assumed that the boxed screen protectors will not be sold at other outlets like Best Buy or other carriers. Most likely, these stores will be selling their own version of the screen protectors. More updates will follow once the boxes reach customers.
