Fujitsu has acquired GK Software to support its retail businesses worldwide by using the latest software, AI and cloud technology through Uvance.
GK Software has officially become a wholly owned Fujitsu subsidiary after the necessary acquisitions have been completed. The company hopes the new approach will help it become stronger in providing retail software globally and also give it an edge in developing future solutions.
GK Software is well-regarded for its progress and serves a quarter of the top 50 companies in retail from around the world. Fujitsu will combine Riverbed’s software solutions and AI-based price optimization expertise with Kozuchi, Data Intelligence PaaS and Dynamic SCM to form a new set of services.
This cooperation will strengthen Fujitsu’s range of software for its Uvance model, mainly within the Consumer Experience area. The companies plan to deliver more value to customers globally by bringing together their retail software and worldwide logistics tools.
GK Software’s leadership team has not changed, as Michael Scheibner remains CEO and Chairman and Michael Jaszczyk keeps his position as Chief Digital Transformation Officer.
According to Fujitsu executive Yoshinami Takahashi, the deal is important for the company’s growth and efforts to transform. Merging software expertise from the two companies should speed up innovation and digital progress in retail around the world.
