India Finalizes Esports Lineup for 17th World Championship

For the upcoming WEC 2025, India chooses Qeeyou and Team Avengers to lead their international esports charge.

India has finalized its team for the 17th World Esports Championship (WEC), with Qeeyou and Team Avengers earning their spots through victories in Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2, respectively, at the National Esports Championship (NESC) 2025.

It was the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) that put together this exciting gaming tournament, highlighting India’s budding star talent. After defeating Fired Up Gaming with a flawless game, Qeeyou gained entry into Western Europe Cup (WEC) finals at CS2.

Avengers pushed through the Dota 2 playoffs, overcoming The Mob 2-0 during the finals held on May 26 which marks a new period of Indian gaming supremacy.

“Our main goal is to proudly represent India while having no fear,” Harsh Jain from Qeeyou commented.

“Being able to qualify is very rewarding,” said Team Avengers’ captain Abhishek Yadav.

The ESFI director, Lokesh Suji, said the teams’ achievements show how India is building depth in competitive gaming. He further confirmed that training bootcamps would happen in the future to gear the teams for global events.

The WEC, organized by the International Esports Federation (IESF), will bring together leading gaming nations. The dates and venue remain undisclosed.

With improved talent, more support from the country and focused training, India will soon be known in the international gaming industry.
