ebooks users, we have sad news for you! Microsoft has made a harsh decision of eliminating ebooks from their venture, reason being, the company could not reach the expected sales target.
It was on April 2 that the company decided not to accept any pre-orders, selling, and renting out for ebooks and the company formerly said that ebooks from all its stores will be removed in the month of July.
Microsoft is ceasing its digital rights management (DRM) server required for licensing all ebooks sold from its store. But the good news for all the users is that you will be refunded fully!
Do you want to hear more? The company will give $25 credit as a bonus if you made any electronic notes or annotations.
Microsoft quotes, “If you have any mark-ups or annotations in any of your acquired books prior to April 2, 2019, you'll receive an additional $25 credit to your Microsoft account at the same time the refunds are processed.”
This scenario can be an apt example to prove that we own nothing! Companies will eliminate a service if they don’t reach their target, so, maybe we own something today will vanish tomorrow.
