The tech giant IBM has announced its new fan experiences that leverages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies. The new fan experiences by IBM will help millions of fans around the world to experience the excitement surrounding the upcoming US Grand Slam.
IBM has developed the new fan experiences in partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Two of the three experiences are powered by IBM’s solutions that are based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities from IBM Watson. IBM’s NLP is important to its AI for business as it helps derive trends and insights from massive amount of data. The new NLP solutions by IBM have been designed by its digital design agency, IBM iX. The solutions have been made available on Official US Open platforms including USOpen.org and the US Open app.
The IBM iX team worked with the USTA to create the new fan experiences and deploy swiftly. These NLP solutions will give the fans a way to engage remotely in discussions on tennis rivalries on USOpen.org. IBM’s NLP capabilities will then analyze millions of news and sports sources for insights. Also, it will help fans gain fast match insights.
The tech giant has additionally come up with a new way to address the need to recreate the sound of fans inside the stadium as the US Grand Slam is not hosting any fans in the stadiums this year. IBM will recreate the crowd sounds by leveraging AI highlights technology from hours of video footage. The AI sounds will be made available to the production teams at stadiums and at ESPN.
