NEC Corporation and Hortonworks, Inc. announced about their collaboration to deliver a Big Data processing platform. The two companies are combining NEC's Data Platform for Hadoop with Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP®) that will allow enterprise customers to process structured and unstructured data in a single platform.
NEC with Hortonworks support will market the Big Data platform solution worldwide. The collaboration will allow each firm to leverage its core competencies and increase the benefits of delivered to their customers and partners. Through this partnership NEC’s Data Platform will be certified for Hadoop by Hortonworks.
This partnership also involves doing something more:

Hortonworks also expressed pleasure to work with NEC.
