As the pandemic forced people to stay indoors, the demand for gadgets has gone up, raising their prices. One of the highest hit is the PC gaming components. The recently listed Corsair Gaming has been a beneficiary of the trend. The gaming hardware and peripherals seller saw a significant rise in revenue from last year, the same year ofits stock market debut in September. However, for now, Corsair is down year-to-date in 2021 and lagging the broader market.
This has been due to the shortage of components affecting the sales and supply of gaming components. Also, there is a possibility ofa reduction in demand for gaming as the world progresses over the pandemic. However, the market Corsair operates in is unlikely to lose momentum, and management is taking several smart steps to take advantage.Gaming enthusiasts could start snapping up these gaming PCs due in part to the shortage of graphics cards and other components. Top-tier GPUs are either out of stock or are available only for insanely inflated prices. However, the individual components are costing much higher.
However, Corsair gaming is offering prebuilt gaming PCs that accounted for nearly two-thirds of the overall gaming PC market in 2019. All of this means that there is plenty of room for growth in Corsair's biggest business unit this year and beyond. The attractive pricing of Corsair's new systems could potentially give them edge over the competitors. The GPU supply shortage is there to remain until 2021, which means the sales of prebuilt PCs will grow more than expected.
