Accenture has agreed to acquire SALT Solutions AG

Accenture has announced that it is acquiring SALT Solutions headquartered in Würzburg, Germany. SALT Solutions is a leading technology consultancy that implements and maintains IT systems in industries including the German automotive, consumer goods, chemical companies, and manufacturing. SALT Solutions is also an SAP Gold Partner and has offices in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart.

The acquisition will help the professional services global giant to build a cloud-based industrial IoT platform to optimize clients’ production and logistics. This will help the clients reduce the quality and waste issues in their supply chain.

The Würzburg-company will be joining Accenture Industry X. SALT Solutions has over 500 professionals who have deep expertise in manufacturing and supply chains systems. This expertise will help Accenture expand its Accenture Industry X’s digital manufacturing operations and supply chain business in Germany.

Nigel Stacey, global lead for Accenture Industry X, added: “We are building cloud-based industrial IoT platforms for our clients that capture and turn underused shop floor information into insights for real-time and long-term strategic decision-making. SALT Solutions’ unique production and logistics expertise will be a key enabler for these platforms.”

Neither of the companies talked about the financial terms and conditions of the acquisition.
