The process of owning a home does not just involve just the buyers and realtors. There are others who can influence and affect the process that leads up to you buying/owning a home. Loan Officers are one of the most important pieces of this puzzle as mortgage and finance businesses rely heavily on them to bring business relationships to the bank. But if they decide to move elsewhere, the banks lose their revenue. To put an end to this, Rick Orozco founded a platform, Amped Lead Generation that helps these businesses create leads and not lose them.
We interviewed Amped Lead Generation’s leader, Rick Orozco, Founder and CEO, to get a glimpse into his mind and to understand how the company is solving such an intricate issue of lead generation. Here are the excerpts:
Whom do you give the credit for your business success? Why?
I give my father the credit for all my success. He was always hard on me, and expected excellence from me. I always wondered why he was so hard on me, and treated me differently than my brothers and sisters. If I made a 90 on a test he asked why I didn’t make a 100. He later told me that he believed in me and knew I was going to do something great in this world. It had an impact on me, and it led me to expecting excellence from myself always.
Do you agree that true influence is measured through action?
All things happen through action. Words can be a strong motivator for action. They matter. But words that do not lead to action are wasted. In the end, I believe passion is the fuel to action. If you
are passionate about your business and your goals you will always lead with action. Accomplishing your goal is all you can think about when you are moved emotionally to accomplish something. I do not believe actions go unnoticed. I think people pretend not to notice so they can feel better about their own failures. That is why people say why him or her? How come I don’t have that success? It is always due to lack of passion and action.
Influential companies offer customers the best experience at every touchpoint. How do you manage to be consistent at every touchpoint - branding, sales and service?
In my 15 plus years in the mortgage industry I learned that there were two kinds of Loan Officers. One that is great at sales, but terrible at organization and following through. The other is excellent at putting his/her files together and submitting quality files, but are terrible at marketing. This leads to a consistent problem with pipeline management. The people with the most files submitted have the worst files and it always bogs the pipeline down.
What you truly want is – a person who submits quality files with the most files. But due to their lack of sales, it never happens. I built Amped Lead Generation so that on a mass scale I could generate the business and hand it to a quality Loan Officer for a clean submission.
My platform allows me to get rid of the Pre-madonnas that previously had bad attitudes because of their arrogance of having many file. With my platform, I can supplement the loss of their files and give them to quality employees that are fun to work with. This was the plan from the beginning. I built the platform for me and my teams alone, but as we went along, people started hiring me to generate the leads for their companies, and so it led to quick success.
Influential companies are relentless about product and service quality. Do you have a customer-centric approach to support this?
The platform I built was to help the end customer own a home. That has always been the focus. Amped has always tried to help people who are looking to be a home owner and making sure they were placed with a quality Loan Officer to get the job done. It turned out that my customers became mortgage companies and realtors as they started buying my lead system.
I certainly want the customers to be happy with my system but if I focus on them I lose the true purpose of what I built. I still focus on the home buyer. I want them to feel comfortable and safe when they reach out for help. I look to maintain that focus and not worry about the lead buyers. If the leads are good and people are responsive to take action I feel I have done my part in the transaction.
Unfortunately, I have no control of the experience after I hand the client off to the mortgage company. But I look to partner with professionals who will treat people with respect and have real knowledge of the products. They must be passionate about the human aspect of the process. This has led to consistent success.
