At a virtual event held today, Microsoft unveiled two new Surface devices along with a plethora of new accessories. However, the primary focus of the first part of the presentation was on the increasing integration of its AI Copilot into Windows.
But this was mostly a hardware show dressed up with some enterprise software. However, everything at Microsoft these days has to have a Copilot aspect, even the most basic hardware events.
The lengthy explanation of Copilot's benefits that Microsoft provided here was essentially a rehash of previously released updates, client endorsements, and a lot of hype about how Copilot will increase employee happiness and productivity by summarizing meetings and documents that they didn't read.
Windows 11 and Windows 365, according to Melissa Grant, Microsoft's senior director for Windows Enterprise, promise a new era of AI productivity. She continued by saying that their objective is to enable staff members to work more productively and creatively while maximizing their available time.
In what precise way will Microsoft accomplish that? by including a toggle that allows users to quickly move between "Work" and "Web" in the Copilot interface on Windows 11. The Work button integrates Copilot's Microsoft 365 features into the Windows interface, along with the internal company data that powers them. This is so that as many people as possible may utilize Copilot, which is part of Microsoft's initial plan for the product. According to Grant, Windows is designed to provide you with the tools you need to transform your company into one that is AI-centered.
