Google’s premium storage subscription service provides free backups on Android. Now, Google has unveiled its VPN by Google One on its 2TB and higher plans. The new service on the Google One app will provide an extra layer of online protection for Android users.
Android is a safe OS as there is comprehensive security built into all its products. But the rollout of the VPN through Google One will provide additional security by encrypting all of an Android phone’s online traffic. Google wrote on its blog: “The VPN is built into the Google One app, so with just one tap, you can rest assured knowing your connection is safe from hackers.”
Google One’s VPN is rolling out just for the US users in the coming weeks through the Google One app. It will eventually expand to more countries and to iOS, Windows, and Mac. But that is expected to happen over the coming months.
Additionally, Google has also announced the rollout of Pro Sessions by Google One with VPN support. This will enable people to schedule one-on-one online sessions with a Google expert to learn more about VPNs. The users will now be able to get access to the VPN and Pro Sessions in addition to the 2 TB of storage and other member benefits they already get with the plan.
