The United States of America has stated that it will continue to export oil and gas to India. The US stated that this will further enhance and strengthen the Strategic Energy Partnership between the two countries. The State Department also said that the Biden administration accords top priority to climate change. India has been importing natural gas and oil from the US, based on its export policy, given that the administration has a top priority of climate change.
The oil and gas department spokesperson Ned Price has stated that its broad energy cooperation with India will continue to grow substantially and significantly. Both the countries are working closely to usher in the Paris climate agreement and prioritize climate change issues. Both countries have decided to tackle the current climatic changes issues by bringing in new ideas and strategies.
The US has said that it is collaborating with India and is focusing on natural gas, renewable energy, nuclear energy, clean coal, smart grids, and unconventional and clean energy sources to benefit both nations' people. The US-India Strategic Energy Partnership supports sustainable energy development and has four pillars — oil and gas, power and energy efficiency, clean and renewable energy, and sustainable growth.
