U.S. Easter weekend works wonders for AMC Entertainment’s revenue

An 8% hike in revenue was reported to have been achieved by AMC Entertainment over the Easter weekend, resulting in an all-time high.

With the Easter weekend having just passed, the public took the extended holiday as an open invitation to the theaters. This helped in the profits of AMC Entertainment, their stocks which were originally down over 57% in the last year, has now seen more than an 8% rise, resulting in a high of $5.35 per share.

The company addressed a recent press release stating that since reopening the theaters after the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, AMC has seen its three highest revenue days during the Easter weekend. Saturday 8th April, was AMC’s highest revenue day in the USA since the pandemic. AMC also added that the revenue hike comes with the inclusion of food & beverage profits during the same weekend.

The boost in revenue comes from the highly anticipated release of The Super Mario Bros movie and the success of previous new releases like the movie Air, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and John Wick: Chapter 4.

AMC reported more than 3.6 million people attended the movies at one specific location in the United States between Friday and Sunday, emerging as one of the busiest weekends AMC entertainment has seen in the past three years.
