Scan Global Logistics has opened its second office in Kenya's coastal city of Mombasa, marking its successful entry into the country, which serves as the main port of discharge for East and Central Africa.
Scan Global Logistics (SGL) established its second office in Kenya, this time in the coastal city of Mombasa, after its successful entry into the country. The seaport is the entry point to East and Central Africa and is the region's principal discharge port. The dual representation will help SGL effectively compete with industry leaders and offer customers competitive local and regional logistics solutions, working with the company's current Nairobi branch.
This calculated action comes six months after the aspirational freight forwarder, which opened an office in Nairobi in April 2023, successfully entered the Kenyan market. SGL's strategic position on the African continent is further reinforced by the opening of its 12th office in Mombasa.
Kenya's increased infrastructure, such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) that connects inland Nairobi with coastal Mombasa, contributes to the country's burgeoning logistics potential. The new office will be staffed by seven seasoned logistics specialists offering customers end-to-end, customized solutions, including transshipment, warehousing, and customs clearance.
Africa is the continent that is developing the fastest, with a middle class that is expanding at a rapid pace and a population of 1.5 billion. The entry into Kenya is a component of SGL's larger African expansion plan.
