Salesforce has announced its acquisition of Troops.ai, a leading provider of a revenue communications solution used to improve forecasting, velocity, visibility, and collaboration across teams.
The terms of the agreement weren’t revealed, but Salesforce announced that Troops will become a part of Slack when the acquisition closes in Q2 of 2023.
CEO of Troops.ai, Dan Reich, wrote in a blog post saying that when they started Troops.ai, they wanted to reimagine how work gets done. They tried to make work easier, more collaborative, and more intelligent. He added that this announcement marks an incredible milestone in the Troops journey. They’d like to thank their community, valued customers, partners, investors, and team for their support and partnership.
Troops.ai was founded in 2016 by Dan Reich, Greg Ratner, and Scott Britton, who sought to streamline the process of communication between teams by pushing and pulling customer relationship management data in Salesforce by using Slack as a channel. Reich previously co-founded social analytics service Spinback, while Ratner was the director of technology at Deep Focus, and Britton was formerly a part of the online business management platform SinglePlatform.
Ever since Salesforce acquired Slack, the firm has continued to benefit financially from the ongoing popularity of the messaging platform.
