SAP is going to make its cloud platform available in Australia and New Zealand by availing it through Amazon Web Services (AWS). The launch is expected to happen later this month. SAP’s cloud services will be accessible through AWS Asia-Pacific which is located in Sydney.
This will also enable SAP’s local partners in Trans-Tasman region to deploy SAP’s suite of products that will also include the new SAP HANA. SAP’s HANA is a service that was launched to provide cloud instances of SAP HANA on-demand with consumption-based pricing. The customers in the region will welcome the SAP cloud platform as this will facilitate an increase in the business value through innovations that will drive the productivity through cloud technology.
Explaining the reason behind SAP’s cloud platform launch, SAP Cloud Platform President and CTO Bjorn Goerke said that their customers make decisions of using SAP applications through the various cloud channels and many of these users tend to lean towards AWS. Fusing both these services would make the process simpler. “SAP is committed to giving our customers multi-cloud choice and flexibility so that they can achieve their innovation goals. The availability of SAP Cloud Platform in the AWS Sydney data center extends our unique offer of multi-cloud flexibility and openness.”
