SAP users in North America are either in the process of migrating to or have already adopted the S/4HANA ERP platform, signaling a significant shift in ERP adoption.
A recent survey conducted by the Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG) indicates a growing momentum in the adoption of SAP's S/4HANA ERP platform among North American users. The survey found that nearly two-thirds of SAP users in the region have either started migrating to or have already implemented the latest platform.
SAP's transition to its S/4HANA system, which is based on an in-memory database, has faced challenges in gaining traction among customers. The primary hurdle for many organizations has been the difficulty in establishing a compelling business case to justify the migration costs. In response, SAP has introduced discounts for its RISE with SAP migration program and has announced the end of support for its earlier ECC platform by 2027, following a two-year extension.
According to the ASUG survey, 47% of respondents are currently running on S/4HANA or have initiated their migration programs. Additionally, 22% of participants plan to begin their migration within the next two years. The survey, which involved 766 ASUG members, also highlighted that 48% consider S/4HANA as their primary focus, up from 42% the previous year.
The increasing adoption of S/4HANA among North American SAP users underscores the growing importance of modern ERP solutions in driving business transformation and efficiency.
