The Korean ambassador met the Egyptian minister of higher education and scientific research to discuss ways to improve the areas of science and technology in education.
On Monday, Mr. Kim Yonghyon, the Korean Ambassador, met with Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to discuss ways to improve collaboration between the two nations in the areas of science, technology, and higher education.
The parties expressed gratitude for their continued cooperation and exchanged ideas on how to advance technical education in general and Korean language instruction in particular.
Ambassador Kim expressed his satisfaction that Egypt, one of Korea's top ODA partners, is carrying out several initiatives aimed at fostering mutual collaboration in the sphere of education. This is one of the five primary areas of cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Kim promised to keep working to improve development collaboration with the education sector.
The Korean Ambassador specifically stated that the $8 million second phase of the collaboration project involving KOICA and Beni Suef University of Technology will be executed starting this year and that the first phase was successfully completed last year. In order to ensure that the second phase of the project is implemented successfully, he hopes to improve communication between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Korean Embassy. The main objective of the second stage is to enhance academic industrial education via the opening of a railway department.
