According to Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang, artificial intelligence has made it possible for anyone to program computers by simply speaking to them.
Nvidia has risen to the top of the list of the most valuable listed semiconductor companies in the world as a significant supplier of chips and computing systems for artificial intelligence.
The company predicted last week that second-quarter revenue would exceed Wall Street estimates by more than 50% and announced it was increasing supply to keep up with rising demand for its artificial intelligence chips, which power ChatGPT and numerous other services similar to it.
Speaking to tens of thousands of guests at the Computex forum in Taipei, Huang said AI was driving a revolution in computing.
There was no doubt that we were living in a new computing era, said Huang in a speech that occasionally included Mandarin or Taiwanese words to the delight of the audience.
In this computing era, Huang continued, there was a very low entry barrier for programmers. According to Jensen, the digital divide is now closed. You only need to speak to the computer now that everyone is a programmer.
According to Huang, the reason AI was developing so quickly was that it was so simple to use. He predicted that virtually every industry would be impacted by AI.
Nvidia's chips have assisted businesses like Microsoft Corp. in giving search engines like Bing human-like chat features.
