Microsoft, late last year was testing its Project xCloud game streaming service but had not revealed much about it. In March this year, the company gave a small demo of how the streaming service will be. But the company has now announced that it intends to launch Project xCloud in October.
At the Microsoft Xbox E3 2019 press conference, the company showcased as many as 60 games for console and PC. With Project xCloud, the gamers are in for a treat as Microsoft gears up to launch games in a broader way. Microsoft will let the E3 attendees get the first look at the service. They will get to play Xbox One games like Halo 5: Guardians and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on their smartphones and tablets during the event.
The technology will let the gamers use their own Xbox One as a personal cloud server. The service will do the computation on Microsoft’s servers for those choosing to access it through other consoles.
Microsoft owned Xbox also announced that the company is going to acquire Double Fine Productions. In its press release, Xbox said: “The addition of this boundlessly creative studio will reinforce the Xbox team’s commitment to developing original content with memorable characters and unexpected stories.”
