Here comes a new smartwatch by Garmin called Instinct. Designed particularly for outdoor activities, the Garmin Instinct comes with a preinstalled GPS, perfect for mountain biking or hiking. But GPS isn’t the only attractive part of this new IoT device. Barometric altimeter, 3-axis compass, GLONASS, and Galileo navigation systems are also equipped into it.
You could say that the support for navigation systems is the key outstanding feature of the watch. This enables the device to track the location even when you’re hiking in the most remote terrain. Instinct also has another feature called TracBack. In case you get lost, TracBack helps you trace back the steps to the starting point.
Apart from the striking navigation features, Instinct also has the other perks of the smartwatches stomping the market, including heart rate sensors and monitors, monitors of daily activity, stress, sleep, calories burned, etc. It also has many inbuilt sports app. Instinct has a strong battery life of up to 14 days when it’s in smartwatch mode, 16 hours in GPS mode, and 40 hours in UltraTrac mode, which is ultimate power saver switch.
Garmin has an aim to build devices up to the military standard that is resistant to shock, water, and thermal effects. The silicon band that encompasses the watch is chemically strengthened and scratch proof as well, the company said. Garmin has priced Instinct at $299.99 and comes in graphite, tundra, and flame red colors.
