Huawei strikes back, calls ban unconstitutional

Huawei is now fighting back against the US ban on its products that is reaching a global limit. Filing a legal motion, Huawei is challenging the ban imposed as unconstitutional. The governmental ban by the US Commerce Department has forced tech companies like Google, Intel, Qualcomm, etc. to stop conducting business with the Chinese conglomerate.

On the other hand, the US government is trying to push out Huawei out of the country on a wider scale citing security concerns that Huawei is spying for the Chinese government. The ban forced governmental agencies from using Huawei products in their office and also from other private companies from conducting business with Huawei. It was right then in March that Huawei filed a lawsuit that the ban was unconstitutional.

Now once again, Huawei is pushing its legal argument to remove the ban. The legal motion filed by Huawei asks a court to rule directly as a “summary judgment” never giving the company a chance to put forth its case in the court. The US government had just branded the company as “disloyal” through its legislation, instead of actually giving Huawei the opportunity to process under the law.

Mr. Song Liuping, Huawei's chief legal officer said that the ban is hitting a point of “dangerous precedent.” In his argument, he noted that “Today it’s telecoms and Huawei. Tomorrow it could be your industry, your company, your consumers.”
