Alibaba has opened a pilot store in Hong Kong that is showcasing Guess Apparel through the usage of smart technology. The store makes extensive use of AI to make the shopping apparels easier for its customers.
The store will use smart mirrors, omnichannel integration, and intelligent garment tags to enable customers to shop in an efficient manner. This integration of IoT into the fashion retail will make shopping extremely convenient for customers as the customers won’t have to carry their own items to the fitting rooms and be in a position to request for more items to try out. The customer won’t have to carry items all around. They can simply use the smart mirror to add them to their virtual shopping cart; the staff will select the garments and provide the same in the fitting room.
"FashionAI embodies our thinking of what the future of fashion retail could look like and an exploration of using technologies to better understand and cater to consumers’ fashion needs," said Alibaba group vice president Zhang Zhuoran in a statement.
It is for sure that this store will give the customers the most stress-free shopping experience. Additionally, the hassle-free store will also give staff the luxury of maintaining the brands and their inventory.
