Nissan is betting big with its upcoming electric SUV, 2022 Ariya. The upcoming model was revealed in a roadshow and is expected to hit the road later this year. The SUV maintains the charm of its design even if it is electrically powered. The futuristic front grille blends well with the body. The ultra-modern aerodynamic look with a sharp grill mixes well with the retro SUV body. The rear of the vehicle has a futuristic look with a horizontal light bar divided up by the rear tailgate.
The 2022 Ariya will offer up to 300 miles of driving range. It will come with two different battery sizes –a standard 63kWh battery and an optional larger 87 kWh pack. It will also have options for either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Nissan is well-known for its beautiful luxurious interiors. The new Ariya will host driver-assistance features, including infotainment tech, and convenience items, helping the 2022 Ariya compete with similarly sized EV crossovers, such as the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Ariya is altogether a new vehicle from Nissan. It features Nissan's new semi-autonomous driving system (ProPilot 2.0), which debuted on the Nissan Skyline sedan. The system allows drivers to remove their hands from the wheel in certain driving scenarios. The key safety features include Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.
