The seven-year strategic cloud relationship between Oracle and Uber Technologies, Inc. will help Uber innovate more quickly, bring new products to market, and boost profitability.
It is crucial for Uber to concentrate resources on its strategic ambitions and core competencies as the company expands and enters new areas. Uber will be in a position to update its infrastructure and quicken its path to profitability by moving some of the most crucial workloads of the company to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
"Uber is revolutionizing the way people, products, and services move across continents and through cities," said Uber CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi.
"Uber is expanding into a 'go anywhere, get anything' platform, and the company needed a cloud partner that shares a relentless focus on innovation," said Oracle CEO, Safra Catz. "This landmark competitive win for OCI is further validation of the momentum and acceleration we are experiencing in the market. Enterprises, governments, and startups around the world are recognizing the differentiation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and experiencing our performance, security, and economic benefits versus other hyperscalers."
Recent analyst reports and this new strategic alliance with Uber provide strong support for OCI's business plan and product goals. Customers demand infrastructure with the highest price-performance ratio and flexibility across a global footprint. Now that OCI is available, Uber may benefit from these features.
