Salesforce announces its first integration with Slack after the acquisition

Rob Seaman, SVP for Slack at Salesforce, said that these new capabilities would support Slack’s vision for sales, service, marketing, and analytics.

Salesforce, the CRM giant, has announced its first integration with Slack after acquiring it last year for about $28 billion. As per Salesforce, the initial integrations will prove useful for Salesforce customers. “We really want Slack to be the primary engagement surface for our users, their communications, their work, their workflows, and the processes and the apps they support,” said Rob Seaman, SVP for Slack at Salesforce.

He further added that these new capabilities would support Slack’s vision for sales, service, marketing, and analytics. And for each of those areas, you can model your sales, service, and marketing organizations in this new world.

By taking advantage of Slack’s ability to integrate external enterprise apps inside the application, users can find ways to speed up and automate various Salesforce tasks, making it faster and easier to use without switching context to make it happen.

The Sales Cloud will also get dedicated deal rooms, where the parties involved in a complex sale, whether internal departments like finance and product people or external partners, can come together in Slack throughout the sales cycle and stay informed about all the sales activity.

Slack Connect is the service introduced last year that enables Slack users to connect with people outside of a company. Apart from this, service teams can meet together in a room called swarm, a place for the team to help one another with specific questions or problems.
