LinkedIn unveils three brain-teasing games, aiming to elevate user engagement and connectivity across its global network.
LinkedIn, the world's leading professional networking platform, has ventured into the realm of gaming with the launch of three captivating puzzle games. This strategic move, orchestrated by the Microsoft-owned company, seeks to enhance user engagement among its expansive base of over a billion users worldwide.
Unveiled on May 1st, the trio of new puzzle games—Pinpoint, Queens, and Crossclimb—offers users around the globe an opportunity to exercise their cognitive prowess directly within LinkedIn's mobile app or website.
These "thinking-oriented" games are seamlessly integrated into the platform, accessible via the My Network tab on mobile and desktop interfaces, as well as through the LinkedIn News section on desktops.
LinkedIn's foray into gaming comes on the heels of the unprecedented success of Wordle, a popular word puzzle game that captured the attention of users worldwide. Recognizing the burgeoning interest in puzzles, the professional networking giant aims to captivate its users with intellectually stimulating challenges.
The development of these games was spearheaded by LinkedIn's News team, which recently welcomed Paolo Pasco as its games editor. Pasco brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously contributed to a subscription-based weekly crossword publication, the American Values Club Crossword. Notably, Pasco also clinched the title of this year's champion at the Annual American Crossword Puzzle Tournament.
Users can engage with each of the games once per day, fostering friendly competition and camaraderie by viewing which of their connections have participated. Additionally, the games will feature leaderboards showcasing achievements within schools and companies, further fostering a sense of community among LinkedIn's vast user base.
