98point6 brings in $50 million in Series C of funding

98point6 is a healthcare company that provides diagnosis and treatment from board-certified physicians through in-app messaging. They have been one of the game changers in healthcare by providing care through messaging. The company today announced that it has successfully raised $50 million in a new round of funding.

The Series C round was led by the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. Other existing investors also joined in during the funding round. This brings the total tally of funds raised by the company up to $86.1 million since it was founded.

98point6 also claims that their users experience a 97 percent in-app resolution rate. Commenting on the investment, Goldman Sachs’ Global head of healthcare investing said: “We are excited to partner with 98point6 because they are dedicated to improving the physician and patient experience—empowering board-certified physicians with technology to enhance care delivery and drive patient engagement”.

The company based out of Seattle has said that it intends to use the funding to expand its products and service offerings along with adding more doctors to their platform. 98point6 currently operates for 40 states and aims to be in all 50 states by early 2019. The company is changing the way care is administered as one-third of their healthcare service is provided at non-traditional locations such as airports, coffee shops or in-transit.
