Anago’s Beginnings

David Povlitz founded Anago in 1989 after a 15-year career in the conventional cleaning business with his brothers in Michigan. He realized the need for an organized work order program, and created one, along with a marketing and sales program to ensure growth. By 1991, he had moved to South Florida and was offering individuals the chance for franchise business ownership through Anago’s Unit Franchise program. He further enhanced that opportunity to business executives by creating the Master Franchise program.

Anago Today

Today Anago has over 40 Master Franchise territories across the U.S. and Canada, and over 1,500 Unit Franchisees. The company is now based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a support staff of over 30 employees. Adjacent to the corporate office is the Master Franchise for the South Florida area, which was founded by David Povlitz as Anago’s first Master Franchise. That Master remains Anago’s model city today.

Today, Anago is now under the leadership of Adam Povlitz, who started working in the company at the age of 26. Looking to make a real impact in his professional life instead of being a spoke in the corporate wheel, he decided to join his father in building Anago. Adam learned the business from the ground up, working in every Anago department, including cleaning commercial office space. This gave him the awareness, knowledge and motivation to evolve Anago into one of the largest and nationally acclaimed franchised commercial cleaning companies in the U.S.

In 2015, Adam was promoted to President and oversees all aspects of the company, including operations, finance, support and marketing.

Adam is committed to keeping Anago ahead of the competition – especially in the technology space. As one of his first initiatives as President, Adam commissioned a team of IT professionals to lead the development of the industry’s very first Master Franchise App and Anago Cloud system. This was designed to increase the efficiency of both Master Franchisees and Unit Franchisees as they run their businesses. Once completed, the new technology in fact nearly doubled the efficiency of sales people and reduced administrative costs by nearly a third. As technology evolves, so does Anago. The staff is already working on several new automation initiatives to streamline the business even more and remain ahead of the competition.
