DNN Software, that was formerly called DotNetNuke, is the leading open source web content management platform (CMS) in the Microsoft ecosystem. DNN's Content Management System helps customers create rich, rewarding online experiences. DNN is the steward of the DotNetNuke Open Source Project, also known as DNN Platform. It is a web content management system based on Microsoft.NET. The DNN Platform Edition is open source and is written in C#, though it existed for many years as a VB.NET project.
DNN Software provides a suite of solutions for creating fulfilling online experiences for customers, partners and employees. The company’s products and technology are the foundation for 750,000+ websites worldwide. In addition to the commercial CMS, Evoq, DNN is also the steward of the DotNetNuke Open Source Project.
“We’re passionate about content. Our mission is to build and deliver software products that help customers connect content to revenue,†says the CEO of DNN Software, Andy Tryba.
The company specializes in Web Content Management Platform, CMS, Net Application Development Framework, Open Source CMS for Microsoft.NET, Social Communities, Social Community Platforms, Social Business Platforms, and Cloud Solutions.
The Content Connection
The company’s products are used to build professional looking and easy-to-use commercial websites, social intranets, community portals, or partner extranets. Containing dynamic content of all types, DNN sites are easy to deploy and update. The DNN Platform has been downloaded more than 8 million times, which is a success on its own. With a community of more than 1 million members, DNN forms a powerful support network.
Thousands of free and commercial extensions, apps and skins are available at the DNN Store that makes extending a DNN site fast and affordable. In addition to robust content management, the free, open source DNN Platform includes the following built-in features:
Thriving on Challenges
“It’s a challenge to create good content, put it in the right place at the right time and expect your target audience to notice and engage. Nobody has solved this problem in its entirety,†notes the CEO.
The quest to solve this problem is why DNN Software exists. To do so, the company is evolving from Web Content Management (WCM) to a decoupled and intelligent Content Management System (CMS). This largely involves expanding web publishing to omnichannel publishing across apps, websites, microsites, social channels, and new form factors, such as smartwatches. In addition to this, it also involves expanding from single repositories of content to pulling from any repository, all from a single interface. Giving content magical powers by having it created re-used and distributed in building blocks like Legos is another part of the transformation.
Teammates
At DNN, the company is well aware and knows that every one of its employees plays a critical role in delivering high-value solutions to its customers and community. This is why it is careful when adding new folks and members to its team.
DNN Software is filled and fueled by problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and collaborators. The team at DNN is composed of passionate employees who help coworkers, partners, and customers have a successful journey at DNN. “At DNN we believe that if you find smart people and give them the tools, encouragement, and environment that they need to do their job, great things happen,†adds Tryba.
This is why open communication is highly valued at DNN. Collaboration and mutual respect are another quality that employees at DNN posses. “Given how much time you spend at work, it’s important to love what you do. At DNN, we love what we do,†notes Tryba. This uniquely makes DNN an innovative workplace that encourages employees to evolve in their careers.Â
