10 Best Software Companies 2018
CIO Bulletin
In the fast-driven world of today, maintenance, repair, and energy budgets occupy one of the highest slots of expenditure for business organizations. However, there is still a lack of visibility when it comes to how money is spent on maintenance and repairs. There is a lack of concern on how a facility’s performance can cause these costs to fluctuate. Many organizations are unaware that unnecessary maintenance and repair expenses, not-required energy expenditure, operational drifts, and more can often be identified, predicted, and even corrected if you have the right insight and optimization tools.
"You can’t manage what you don’t measure," says Mark A. Danzenbaker, the president of GridPoint, a smart building technology company. Customers can see only main load consumption when traditional utility meters are installed. They even have to wait for weeks after the energy has been used, to view that data on billing statements. But GridPoint has a different solution to offer. Optimization is made simple with GridPoint's equipment-level submetering and monitoring.
"Our platform provides visibility into facility operations, and enables tools to help customers automate and control sites, lower energy spend, and proactively manage day-to-day operations," explains Mark. The GridPoint customers can tap into their energy usage in real-time. They can constantly monitor the site health and equipment performance. Active site management is easily accessible to make timely adjustments before savings are lost.
Interesting twist with a modern touch
Danzenbaker questions his customers, "Your business spends a ton of money on energy, maintenance, and repairs, but do you know where those dollars are being consumed? Or how a building’s performance is contributing to overall facility costs?" He stresses that you simply can't manage what you don't measure!
At GridPoint, the team includes innovators, energy enthusiasts, and collaborators. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the vision of GridPoint is “to be the best in the world at collecting energy and facility data and making it actionable for our customers.” The company delivers better data, better processes, and ultimately, better results. Customers are powered with best data when they sign up with GridPoint. Today, more than 12,000 locations are equipped with GridPoint's technology.
Let's do a quick comparison. When you install traditional utility meters, you can see only the main-load energy consumption. But with GridPoint, three dimensions of data is captured, so that clients can see the most accurate image of their energy consumption within and across sites. The smart building solution from GridPoint combines this visibility with powerful analytics and tools. The plus point? Customers are enabled to reduce energy consumption, automate their sites, assess facility health, and have complete control.
GridPoint stands out in the industry. The reason is its insights, expertise, and experience. Nearly 100B data points (1M added daily) are processed through proven, superior algorithms for the best facility insight. The expert team at the company has saved customers over $300M in energy costs, reduced 4B kWh, and eliminated 3.7B lbs of carbon dioxide. The firm's biggest plus point is its experience. GridPoint’s solution is installed at over 15,000 sites, including leading national accounts across all types of facilities and industries.

"GridPoint’s hardware and software applications are proven superior through years of experience eliminating energy waste and providing operational savings across a multitude of building types," says Mark. This makes GridPoint the market-leader in IoT Applications.
The large range of comprehensive services includes customized reporting, advisory services, a 24×7 support center, and more. Every service is designed to help achieve optimal results geared towards customer-specific goals. With a superior quality service assured, you may begin to wonder about the pricing.
