Raeco Builders - A General Contractor providing quality custom building options

A general contractor is a beneficial asset to any building option as they are in charge of managing every tiny detail, from hiring the right subcontractors to maintaining the budget. Since there are so many aspects involved in a building project, various subcontractors are needed to get the job done perfectly. A proper guidance is required at every step to bring these different facets together and create a seamless result.

Raeco Builders, LLC, established in 2009, has been hyper-focused on making the construction process easy, efficient, and affordable. Working in the construction industry for over 23 years and having hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of construction, Tom Jurgens, Founder of Raeco Builders, was frustrated by the lack of attention being paid to building codes, customer service, and safety. So he decided to venture off on his own, and he was determined to start a construction company that adhered to codes and didn't take advantage of the end customer. We had an interview with him to know more about the company and the services offered. Here a few excerpts of the interview:

Explain your services in brief.

Our Services:

Personalized Steel Metal Building - Our pre-engineered steel buildings are extremely versatile and can be designed for projects of all sizes. It is custom-designed to fit a client's needs.
Concrete Contractor - We use laser screeds, robotic total station, and 3D GPS imaging. Our team has been able to eliminate human error from the process. This saves the client time and budget with the precision of the process
Design-Build - With our design-build construction services, you won't have to manage multiple contracts within your building project. We save you time and major headaches by having the designer and contractor under the same roof. By working collaboratively within our team, we negate any disputes you traditionally see between designer and contractor. That means you are free to make important decisions on your building project rather than handle communication and conflict between multiple parties.

General Contracting - Our team has years of experience in the construction industry and is highly efficient in managing a project from start to finish. When hired as a general contractor, our team stays on top of the day-to-day operations. It stays in constant communication with vendors, subcontractors, and all other parties involved in the project. We submit a fixed-price proposal which we adhere to, no matter how long the project takes. If the project is completed efficiently, it helps both of us.

Consulting - We are here to help if you are looking for a partner to offer advice throughout the building process. With our years of experience in building construction and concrete, we can provide insight into everyday challenges and unique obstacles you may face. We will help you develop cost-effective solutions that take care of those challenges and leave all parties satisfied.

Q. Tell us about your material procurement process. How do you select the vendors?

Our mission at Raeco Builders, LLC is to always bring the very best products and services to each and every job that we will do. We do this by partnering with the very best vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers in the industry. We offer our clients the best and nothing less. However, we do not sacrifice quality or structural integrity for the price just to get a project. Our focus is to bring their building dreams to life with our quality and our commitment to getting the work done right and with an aggressive and attainable production schedule.

Q. How do you recruit the right talents for maintaining the quality of your service?

We look at the experience in the industry, compatible with our team leaders as well. We look for like-minded folk in regards to caring about the process for our clients and giving them quality work.

Q. There are other builders in the construction segment. How do you diversify yourself?

We look at the bottom dollar for clients and the quality of work for that budget. We know that as soon as a client signs a contract, the budget begins, and we provide realistic deadlines and keep the budget in mind as we work. We come into a bid with a realistic budget and willingness to educate as we go along.

Q. High-quality construction and renovation work comes with an expensive price tag, which scares away a lot of people and forces them to go for an affordable local agent. Do you provide fit-for-all services? How do you manage affordability and profitability?

We can be a fit -for- all services. With our team and partners that we have created throughout the years, who share the same philosophy as ours, it helps to make Raeco profitable and affordable.

Q. Not all architects can imagine themselves in the customer's place to design it according to their views. A builder/designer can only suggest making some changes, but they cannot completely understand customer needs. How do you bridge the gap between the customer's imagination and the final outcome?

We pride ourselves on listening to our customers' wants and needs, bringing them into a budget, and an overall goal. Our motto of "Making dreams become a reality" has become one of the goals in our business.

Q. How do you market your services?

We work with a company called 5J Marketing and Design, which focuses on building customer referrals and working with past customers.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

Yes. We have in the past added concrete and metal buildings. Our new addition is site construction. Due to the demands of clients and the service of work we have received, we now offer this service. This is a huge advantage as we get to control schedules on the first on-set of a project. That means Raeco gets to deliver the most important aspects of the job to our clients. We are currently working on a project where our site construction service is being used, as well as other services we offer.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

What the future holds is being able to control schedules, and with the help of support staff and current employees, we have the ability to provide better services for our clients.

Meet the Founder

Tom Jurgens is the Founder of Raeco Builders, LLC. He founded the company in 2009 to make the construction process easy, efficient, and affordable. Prior to Raeco, Tom has worked in many different areas in the construction industry. His last position before starting Raeco was as a District sales manager for a building manufacturer, where he dealt with contractors as well as end owners.
