BTS is Going Hiatus but Promised to Return
BTS band was named the best-selling artist with a huge fan base, known as BTS army, is breaking. This band of seven boys was often compared to The Beatles, the English rock band. BTS made this announcement during their FESTA dinner while celebrating the ninth anniversary of the band.
BTS band leader Namjoon, known as RM, said they intend to take a break as "K-Pop Idol thing is a constant work," which gives them little time to focus on their careers as solo performers. He also expressed his satisfaction with his achievement in the collective work. All of the team members wanted time to explore and grow mature as a single, which according to them, was not possible with the whole "idol system."
The announcement of the band's hiatus has given a headwind to Hybe, the agency that manages BTS. The stock was down to 24.61% on Korean Composite Stock Price Index or KOPSI as BTS is the engine for the company's revenue. On the defense, Hybe said, "To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various formats." To the satisfaction of the "BTS Army," BTS member V made a similar statement.
