WhatsApp dark mode is finally in the beta stage and users with version 2.20.13 can now enable it in the “Chats” section of the app’s settings menu.
The latest dark theme is more than just a color flip as it’ll change the whole UI and will provide users with a set of new colors that they can utilize to reduce the screen brightness. WhatsApp has also included various bug fixes and improvements throughout the app. But being a beta user is a double edged sword as there’ll always be some features that just might not work.
According to some experts, the dark mode will make the app interface better suited to eyes in dark environments. Also, it helps with the battery life of certain devices with OLED displays. With the latest beta release, WhatsApp officially becomes the third major app of Facebook to get the dark mode. It is unclear whether the dark mode will be available for iOS or non-beta mobile users.
For those who are not in the beta-program and are desperate to try out the new mode, they can always seek help from APK Android app files, but it’s quite challenging to trust these unreliable sources as they may pose as a security risk later.
