Amazon just hiked its perks by opening the largest wind farm in Texas. The Amazon Wind Farm Texas, as the giant retailer calls it, is currently the largest wind farm and is located in Scurry County, Texas. In a statement on Thursday, the business said that Amazon Wind Farm Texas would add over 1 million megawatt hours of clean energy to the grid annually. The farm includes over 100 turbines and is expected to generate clean energy to power more than 330,000 homes.
Amazon’s worldwide director of sustainability, Kara Hurst, said in a statement, “Investing in renewable energy is a win-win-win-win – its right for our customers, our communities, our business, and our planet.”
Jeff Bezos up in the air
Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has some serious style! He recently unveiled the largest wind farm in Texas 300 feet up in the air by cracking open a champagne bottle. The CEO tweeted, “Fun day christening Amazon’s latest wind farm.” The tweet also shows Bezos standing on top of a windmill and breaking open a champagne bottle. The GIF clip also shows the confidence that Bezos carries as the camera pulls back to reveal the wide area of the newly captured Amazon empire.
