Apple has now split up iOS from iPad and instead it’s offering a completely new operating system for these devices. “We have some big changes coming to iPad,” said Apple’s software chief- Craig Federighi. And so, now we have the all new iPadOS for Apple’s tablets.
This means an iPad user gets more multitasking features like split-screen features, etc. Speaking of multitasking features, Apple has improved the gesture control, allowing users to slide between apps. You can also drag and drop the apps where you feel like with gestures alone. Another major improvement that Apple has added for its tabs is a new home screen with widgets. These are the widgets that you generally see in the Notification Center and now, they expand along with app icons.
Further details about the iPadOS include an improved Files app, an information pane, a Finder app that’s similar to Mac, etc. Additionally, USB and SD drives can now get your files into the Files app, which is a much needed upgrade that’s present on the new iOS 13 now.
Apple has a different operating system for its various hardwares- like MacOS for its computers, tvOS for Apple TV, watchOS for Apple Watch. The introduction of iPadOS and its split from iOS was bound to be!
