Book your seats for October 17 as Microsoft will start rolling out the next major release of Windows 10. Although the Fall Creators Update is a bit later than most expected, it is well within Microsoft’s promised release window.
Microsoft has been testing Windows 10 Fall Creators Update for the majority of the year, and it includes a number of features and changes. Some of the more hyped features included an updated Microsoft Graph, with numerous features that would make moving between different machines easier. Windows Story Remix, an app with advanced 2D and 3D features for building video and photo stories, is another eagerly awaited update.
Mixed-Reality is here!
Another feature that Microsoft has long highlighted, is the support for what it calls Mixed Reality headsets or simply the augmented and virtual reality goggles. The Fall Creators Update is here with built-in hardware support for these devices. The Windows Mixed Reality platform for VR includes headsets from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. The Mixed Reality software is now fully part of Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update, and some headsets will be available on October 17th with others arriving later this year.
Microsoft is also including a beta version of its integrated eye tracking software, and big improvements to stylus support for handwriting gestures and converted text. In addition to all this and a whole lot more, Security is another big improved update this coming with this update. Microsoft notes that this update includes new accessibility features, something the company has recently put a lot of focus on. Microsoft is currently finalizing the Windows Insiders testing builds for bug fixes.
