Otter.ai has released a new Chrome extension that can be used to transcribe Google Meet calls in real-time. Google, which is known for its advanced machine learning and AI, decided to collaborate with Otter.ai for live transcriptions on Google Meet. Otter.ai’sChrome extension can now be used to transcribe Google Meet calls in real-time automatically.
For this to work, you will need to install Otter.ai’s Chrome extension on the desktop. The best part is that the service is free for every user. All the Google Meet transcriptions can then be saved to your Otter account, which can be accessed later, whenever required.Meetings will be transcribed in real-time, and the transcripts will be saved to your Otter account so that you can access them or share them later.
For using the extension, you have to login or signup for an Otter account in the extension. Later, whenever you get to do a Google Meet, you can just press the record button in the extension, and the transcription will start filling out as you speak. It appears on the side of the Google Meet screen, but you can move it around the page. You can also decrease and increase the text size of the transcription.Interestingly, Otter also allows this live transcription for Zoom users, but the user must be on a paid Otter and Zoom plan. While with Google, the service is completely free.
