Google Photos can be regarded as one of the stellar free service apps on Android with unlimited photo backups, Google Assistant integration and a plethora of AI-enabled features. But Google is continuously adding new features and the latest one is a bit different.
The IT services giant is now planning to integrate a new feature that is subscription-based and automatically selects ten best photos for printing each month. Also, the user can advise Google on what type of photos should be given priority – like faces or pets and can also edit the photos before printing. Google charges $8 per month for a collection of 4x6 prints on matte cardstock.
The feature is available for trial and is billed as an invitation; also the feature is currently available only in the US. According to Google, this new feature is pitched as an option for users to frame their snapshots and even gift certain important ones.
The new feature seems ideal for users who are avid photographers and want to keep tangible copies of their finest work. But for normal users, the monthly subscription plan seems like a bad idea as the user will have to take at least 10 photos per month that are printable.
