Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro is finally out, on sale for $250. The TicWatch is a unique IoT make in the Wear OS smartwatch world. The twist is the “dual screen” built to keep the watch running longer. The solution is an answer to the more pressing problem of short, often less than a 24-hour battery life. Because the dual screen mechanism will activate only one of the screens at a given time. The trick that effectively manages power-usage is the two modes, two screens, and the control to take full advantage of each.
The Smart Mode powered by Wear OS by Google grants 2-5 days battery life, and the Essential Mode with sunlight readability feature is for the fitness-focused and can stretch the battery-life for up to 30 days. The dual-display includes the circular 1.39-inch 400×400 OLED screen for the main display with full smartwatch capabilities, and a transparent FSTN LCD screen to reduce battery-power usage.
The TicWatch Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, with 512 GB of RAM, and 4 GB of storage. The build also includes NFC for Google Play, Wifi, and Bluetooth for connectivity, GPS for tracking, Sensors in Motion, Gyro, and Fitness. Luckily, these basic features continue working even in the low-power mode.
TicWatch Pro also allows the users to personalize their watch face with thousands of themes available on Google Play. With this exquisite feature built-in to reflect your mood, “Buy One and Get 1000+ Watches” has become the maker’s unique selling catchphrase.
