The popular Internet Brands company WebMD has announced that it has acquired Frontline Medical Communications. Frontline Medical Communications is a leading medical communications company and is widely known for arranging live conference events for the healthcare industry. Frontline also has a physician network in more than 20 specialties.
The acquisition will help WebMD’s Medscape by combining the expertise of Frontline for online news, information and education platform. This will help physicians all over the world. "Frontline's position as a leading medical publisher makes them an excellent addition to the Medscape platform," said Bob Brisco, WebMD CEO. "With Frontline, we are building on our commitment to deliver meaningful and relevant content to clinicians exactly where they are and via the channels they prefer. Frontline will help expand and deepen our relationships with health care professionals and enable us to leverage our combined strengths to increase our value to customers."
The price of the acquisition was not revealed by the companies. Further, the terms of the deal have also been kept under the wraps. But both businesses are going to operate independently post the acquisition but are expected to work together to integrate products, platforms, and services.
