Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system has been leaked extensively with all the upcoming new features. Some users have already downloaded and installed the latest OS from leaked sources. The first screenshots were published on the Chinese site Baidu. The entire Windows 11 OS has appeared online, complete with a new user interface, a Start menu, and a lot more.
The new Windows 11 user interface and features resemble the Windows 10X, which was scheduled for dual-screen devices but later scrapped to make way for Windows 11. One of the significant UI overhauls is along the taskbar. Microsoft has centered the app icons here, cleaned up the tray area, and included a new Start button and menu. However, it can be customized to bring back to the left corner if you don’t like it in the center.
This updated Start menu is a simplified version of what currently exists in Windows 10, without Live Tiles. It includes pinned apps, recent files, and the ability to quickly shut down or restart Windows 11 devices. Coupled with the dark mode, Windows 11 looks like a more refined version of Windows 10 and something refreshing.
Microsoft has reportedly been working on a new app store for a long time now. CEO SatyaNadella has promised to “unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators” with Windows, and that will likely come in the form of a new store. The software giant is holding a special Windows event to reveal its next OS on June 24th. The event starts at 11AM ET.
